SEASONAL ALLERGIES

How to Control Seasonal Allergies for Your Cat and Dog

Seasonal allergies in Texas seem to be more like year-round allergies for humans. Did you know that pets can also have seasonal allergies to pollen in the environment? Allergies can be seasonal or all year-round and can make your pet as miserable as you feel when you have allergies. We’re here to help you to treat seasonal pet allergies!

Unlike humans, dogs don’t usually have sneezing and coughing attacks. Dogs with allergies will scratch themselves and will lick and chew at their feet, resulting in discoloration of their fur around their toes. Excessive licking can also lead to bacterial infections.

The good news is that allergies can be controlled! We can use many different therapies from long-lasting injections to medications that you can give at home to help your pet feel much more comfortable and to stop him from scratching.

Our Veterinarians can examine your pet and generate a treatment plan that is tailored to your pet. Together we can break the itch-scratch cycle!

Absolutely love this place. As soon as you walk in the door you are greeted with a very warm and loving atmosphere. Amanda was just so sweet to myself and our sweet doggy yesterday. Dr.Nelson is amazing and took her time and answered all our questions and explained every step of the next process and then Terrance was a huge help also. I would give this place as many stars as I could.

What Our Customers are Saying

“Dr. Nelson was so sweet and patient through all of my questions. The staff here are amazing and genuinely care about the animals. Dr. Nelson and the vet tech both got on the floor with my dog to make her feel more comfortable. It was half the price of our old vet and the care was WAY better. This will definitely be the only vet we visit from now on.”

“I absolutely love Penny Paws at Basswood Crossing! I have 3 cats and 2 dogs and have been taking them all there for about 2 years now. We usually just go to the Saturday clinics for shots, but the entire staff still remembers all of my animals each time! They’re such a great group of people and truly love animals there. I’ve lived all over the US and have never found a vet’s office that is so loving.”
