ANNUAL BLOODWORK SERVICES

Penny Paws Bloodwork Services in Texas

Routine yearly blood work can make a world of difference for your pet. Routine blood work should be performed annually from the time that the dog turns one year old. This gives a great baseline for your pet’s “normal” values to compare with in the event that your pet gets sick. We can then compare his “healthy” blood values with his “sick” blood values. This helps us know how to treat.

Additionally, preventative routine blood work helps to identify underlying health issues that may not be apparent on the outside. Think of it as a window inside of the pet’s body. It helps us to diagnose many diseases before they start causing irreversible damage. This includes early onset diabetes, kidney disease, liver shunts, thyroid disease and immune deficiency issues.

Pets are very good at fooling us into thinking they are healthy and often when we notice that they are not feeling well limits our chances of treating to help the pet get back to 100% recovery.

Our onsite laboratory means that you don’t have to wait for days to get the results for your pet’s blood work. Most test results are available in less than 30 minutes and you can leave our clinic feeling confident that our Doctors know your pet both inside and out!

What Our Customers are Saying

“Dr. Nelson was so sweet and patient through all of my questions. The staff here are amazing and genuinely care about the animals. Dr. Nelson and the vet tech both got on the floor with my dog to make her feel more comfortable. It was half the price of our old vet and the care was WAY better. This will definitely be the only vet we visit from now on.”

– Emily

“I absolutely love Penny Paws at Basswood Crossing! I have 3 cats and 2 dogs and have been taking them all there for about 2 years now. We usually just go to the Saturday clinics for shots, but the entire staff still remembers all of my animals each time! They’re such a great group of people and truly love animals there. I’ve lived all over the US and have never found a vet’s office that is so loving.”
